‘Learning Groove’ - Final project of Cohort 1 participant Sisi Reid

Lo-Fi Language Learning’s Arts ‘n EFL Program

is a three-month virtual program for artists, educators, and arts educators interested in translating their skills into careers as English-as-a-Foreign-Language (EFL) specialists. Participants will follow a curriculum that guides them towards completing a 120-hour online Master TEFL certification course through BridgeTEFL while attending two separate virtual classes:

  • Freestyle & Floetry Class: Tailors our participants’ existing skill-set toward creative EFL curriculum design, classroom management & CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) lesson planning. The course objective will be to lead participants toward designing a final portfolio building project where participants write and record a 5-minute virtual video lesson fully produced by Lo-Fi Language Learning.

  • Careers Corner: Provides our participants with application assistance, panel discussions, and other resources to support their job/fellowship search within the Department of State or other education and media industries. The course objective will be to lead participants to/through an application leading to employment, fellowship placement and/or project funding by the end of their Lo-Fi course.
